Conversing with Hayy Arts’ inaugural exhibition ‘Staple: What’s on your plate?’, which looks at food futures and its integral role in responding to global climate urgencies, the second iteration of the Farmer’s Market comes to Hayy Jameel in collaboration with Azka Farms. The extended four-day Farmer’s Market brings local farms, offering organic products and fresh produce from across the Western Region of Saudi Arabia, in addition to Azka Farm’s very own stall of specially selected items sourced from various local vendors.

The Farmer’s Market is accompanied by a series of workshops and talks as well as tasting and cooking sessions with chefs, artists and food researchers to further engage with the thematics of ‘Staple: What’s on your plate?’.

Art Jameel’s collaboration with Azka Farms aligns both organizations’ pursuit of building community-oriented destinations and supporting local practitioners in creating self-sufficient and sustainable models and researchers in exploring the role of food in intricate global systems.

The Farmer’s Market is part of an extended public programme accompanying ‘Staple’ which also includes a series of talks, performances, workshops, cooking sessions, tours, dinners and screenings throughout its duration.
