Get ready for an immersive and collaborative performance featuring Lebanese-Armenian neo-classical pianist Vladimir Kurumilian and electronic music producer Ziad Moukarzel. In MO(VE)MENT, Vladimir performs on piano while Ziad recreates and manipulates the album’s electronic elements live, including ambient textures, rhythmic pulses, and processed layers, creating a dynamic interplay between acoustic and electronic sound. Together, they explore memory, emotion, and sound through improvisation, collaboration, and experimentation.

Artist Bios 

Vladimir Kurumilian is a Lebanese-Armenian neo-classical pianist and composer whose work blends contemporary improvisation, electronics, and visual arts. Trained for over 15 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory, he debuted in 2009 with What Was Supposed to be a Grendizer Affair. Since then, he has performed internationally and composed for films including Martyr (La Biennale di Venezia) and What’s Going On?. His albums include Dopamine (2018), Brume (2019), and Plot Twist (2020). Kurumilian’s live performances combine music, memory, and multimedia storytelling, and he has collaborated with artists such as Luca Longobardi, Ziad Moukarzel, and  Hamed Sinno, appearing at Baalbeck Festival, Sofar Sounds, and Art Dubai.

 

Ziad Moukarzel is a versatile sound producer, musician, lecturer, and studio engineer known for crafting immersive acoustic spaces. He transforms real-world sounds into rich analog and virtual realms and creates otherworldly atmospheres that transcend physical space. His work spans recording, mixing, mastering, and sound design for performing arts, podcasts, radio, and moving images. As a live electronic artist and DJ, he collaborates across classical, rock, and experimental music, and is the bassist and founding member of avant-garde rock trio Wet Silhouette. His projects have appeared at The Listening Biennial, Gangwon International Triennale, Sharjah Art Foundation, Zürcher Theater Spektakel, and Festival Sens-Interdits.
