Hayy Sounds in December
This month, Hayy Sounds supports musicians whose mission has been about independent music-making and exploring what it means to preserve a culturally rooted yet globally influenced identity. Join us for a set of performances and conversations centred on resilience, connection and healing. A chance for aspiring artists, music lovers and the community to support and hear from regional musicians and producers who are pushing boundaries to create authentic sounds.
Kicking off with:
Performance and talk with Tamtam and special guest Asmaa Naga
Insta: @tamtamsound @asmaanaga
Join us for an exclusive performance by Tamtam, a Saudi singer-songwriter currently on tour across the Gulf region for the release of her new album Ma3assalama (مع سلامة), a deeply personal project all about bidding farewell to things that no longer serve her. Taking inspiration from the golden age of Arabic cinema in the 1940s and 50s, Tamtam blends soul with elements of pop and trap to create a unique sound that is universally resonant.
Opening the performance is fellow musician Asmaa Naga, who joins Tamtam for a conversation and Q&A centered on independent artistry, what it means to be a Saudi female artist and the journey of navigating the music scene whilst remaining authentic and connected to tradition, while sharing advice for any emerging and aspiring songwriters and musicians.
