by the Learning Team

Drop by during the Bakers Market, which is in collaboration with Aysh Academy, for engaging, hands-on activities crafted to spark imagination and joy in your little ones!

What makes a muffin rise, stay soft, or taste like home? In this hands-on workshop, kids will learn what each pantry ingredient does and experiment with different flavours and textures, mixing and matching ingredients to bake and taste-test their own muffins. Once they’ve found their favourite combinations, they’ll recreate their tasty creation as a homemade, shelf-stable muffin mix to take home and bake fresh at any time.

Programme Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the core dry ingredients in a muffin mix and explain what each one does
  • Measure and scale ingredients accurately
  • Plan a simple experiment by changing one mix-in at a time, then observe and compare the results
  • Use their senses to describe flavour, texture and appearance in a structured taste test
  • Make their own shelf stable muffin mix that they can recreate at home
