Join us for a day-long symposium that brings together leading scholars, architects, historians and curators from around the world here in Jeddah to discuss and expands on Studio Bound’s extensive research on the history of shelters, infrastructure and spatial manifestations in times of shifting social conditions.

The series of talks and discussions gives the public a deeper understanding of how configuration of spaces can take on different meanings within contexts of inclusion and exclusion, and how the individual and community navigates through these spaces in times of refuge, challenges and opportunity.

The target audience for the programme are students, academia, designers, practitioners, researchers and the curious Jeddah community with a vested interest in Architecture, Design, Sociology, Public Health and beyond.

‘Accommodations’ is a touring exhibition from the Saudi Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition and is a partnership between Art Jameel and the Saudi Architecture and Design Commission, curated Uzma Z. Rizvi and Murtaza Vali. 

The public programme is in conjunction and with support from the Islamic Arts Biennale.
