Antonia leads the Art Jameel teams in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and oversees programmes across the arts, heritage and education. She joined in 2016 with a mandate to develop the Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai, and Hayy Jameel, Jeddah, and institute a new period of radical growth for the organisation. Among other roles, Antonia was previously Director of Art Dubai (2010-2016); Projects Director at Bidoun; and has written extensively on Middle Eastern art and film.
Ahmad Arslan is an accomplished professional in the field of accounting, graduating from Oxford Brookes University London with a degree in Applied Accounting. With a prestigious certification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), he exemplifies expertise in the intricacies of accounting. Currently pursuing an MBA at Liverpool John Moores University.Throughout his professional trajectory, Ahmad's roles have honed his skills in Financial Analysis, financial reporting, and management reporting. His extensive experience has nurtured an acute understanding of the corporate landscape, allowing him to navigate complexities with finesse.
Ansif works as Project Manager with the Exhibitions and Collections team, assisting on design and production of exhibitions, special commissions and events for both Hayy Jameel in Jeddah and Jameel Arts Center in Dubai. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from India. Prior to joining Art Jameel, he worked on Art Dubai’s Special Projects and in various independent capacities with artists. He also lectured at the University of Calicut, India.
Alvin Lo Vincilo graduated from the Sound Engineering Academy, where he pursued a comprehensive program in Sound Engineering. Additionally, he acquired a specialized skill set in Digital Film Making from the esteemed SAE Institute in India. With more than a decade of firsthand experience, Alvin effectively worked in the Audio Video industry as an AV Technician and Sound Engineer. Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to work in various global locations including Singapore, India, Dubai, and Riyadh. He Initially began his journey in the broadcasting industry, but later transitioned to the event sector. Over the years, he skillfully managed and operated diverse events such as music concerts, conferences, and virtual events.
Bayan comes from a background in Psychology from The Lebanese American University and graduated with a BS in Clinical Psychology from Effat University, after working in academics, her interest grew for arts leading to the joining of Art Jameel in 2020. She organized for traditional arts learning during the one-year programme with the Prince's Foundation and worked with different workshops at the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Jeddah, Al Balad. Transitioning to Hayy Jameel, Bayan leads her role in Visitors Experience, overseeing Hayy signage, wayfinding and supporting Operations team in making the Hayy visitors experience astounding.
Brent studied Information Technology and Information Systems at Brigham Young University - Hawaii. He has a passion for assisting people (and artists!) with technology, and also delves into photography and graphic design. He comes to Jameel Arts Centre having pioneered an art prize and other programmes for emerging artists in Oman.
Cali oversees Hayy Jameel Operations, supporting Visitor Experience, IT including the logistics and strategies for running events and Hayy Cinema; liaising with and managing tenants and residents at Hayy. He is running existing spaces and developing new Art Jameel spaces and projects at Hayy. His most recent role was Director of Tuwaiq Sculpture (Royal Commission for Riyadh City); before this, he worked in Qatar, heading up operations at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and then Msheireb Museums, before becoming Deputy Director of the National Museum of Qatar. He has a law degree from the University of Leicester, a Postgraduate Diploma in Museums and Heritage Management from Nottingham Trent University.
Chris studied Computer Engineering from Enverga University in the Philippines. Prior to joining Art Jameel, he had various experience from the construction & oil and energy sector here in the Kingdom. He is in charge of running the facility of Hayy Jameel as well as supporting events & exhibitions.
Danya proactively engages with Hayy Jameel's members, stakeholders and partners to nuture positive and impactful relationships by bridging the gap between the organization and the community. By overseeing community outreach programmes, managing communication platforms and fostering collaborations, Danya aims to create meaningful opportunities that align with Art Jameel's mission and values. Before joining Art Jameel, Danya interned at UNHCR, and has a background in Public Relations and Communications.
Dania is a multidisciplinary professional with a background in architecture and design, specialising in the art and culture sector. She recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Museum Studies, gaining expertise in curatorship, education, and museum operations. Before joining Art Jameel as Events and Programmes Coordinator, Dania contributed to major projects such as Noor Riyadh and Tuwaiq Sculpture, where she honed her skills in project management and community engagement. With a focus on innovation and collaboration, she is dedicated to creating opportunities that foster meaningful connections, support creativity, and drive growth across diverse sectors.
Eiman joins Hayy Jameel to lead on in-house public events and programmes in the performing and creative arts for a wider audience. Previously, she managed education and society programmes for the British Council Saudi Arabia and has worked overseas for donors and NGOs within the international development sector over the past decade. Eiman holds a Bachelor degree in International Relations & Economics from the University of Reading. She enjoys learning about history and is drawn to art dealing with themes of identity, migration and political discourse.
Fatima is leading on partnerships and business development at Hayy Jameel, her expertise lies in building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, and developing innovative strategies to expand market reach. Previously at Art Jameel, Fatima was managing the Jameel House in the historical area of Jeddah, in addition to leading Art Jameel's capacity-building programmes in digitisation of heritage in Saudi Arabia. In her prior position at the British Council, Fatima worked closely with Saudi and UK universities in addition to local schools on educational programmes, organized events, film festivals & art exhibitions, in addition to leading on programmes for women's empowerment.
Hadeel's journey has taken her from programming workshops for kids at book fairs to volunteering as a storyteller, where she taught children valuable life lessons through engaging narratives. With a sincere admiration for the delicate art of letter writing, she values its enduring beauty and personal touch. After interning in the learning department, she is now a part of the team, developing programs and art camps for kids, encouraging the artistic growth of future generations.
Hanouf is an English Literature and Linguistics graduate from King Abdulaziz University and has a Certificate in Filmmaking from the National Film and Television School in London. She is an avid reader of history and arts; with a versatile experience working with Effat University, Arwa AlArabiea Publishing House, and Saudi Gazette, which greatly benefits her multitasking role as a Communication Assistant.
Jaime is a skilled projectionist with six years of experience in the cinema industry. He have honed his expertise by working at esteemed cinemas in Saudi Arabia, including General Commission for Audio Visual Media, before joining Hayy Jameel. Jaime's unwavering commitment to delivering seamless movie screenings is fueled by his passion for creating exceptional visual and audio experiences for audiences. With a deep understanding of various projection technologies, Jaime possesses the knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain equipment with precision. Jaime is responsible for monitoring the cinema's playlist and handling technical cinema projector operations.
Lama Jamjoom is a filmmaker who is currently working as a cinema assistant. Her previous experience revolves around documentary filmmaking, art direction, archiving and film producing.
Louie is graduated as computer system technician from AMA Computer Learning Center (ACLC). He is a seasoned professional, holding the title of a Registered Master Electrician and an esteemed member of the Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE). His technical prowess extends to Technical Vocational Training in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC). honing his skills at Technocycle Corporation in Beñan Laguna, Philippines, from 2004 to 2012. During this period his responsibilities included the installation and fabrication of diverse air conditioning systems in both buildings,residential and industrial settings. In 2016 louie embraced new challenges with Arabian Homes Company in Jeddah, Kindom of Saudi Arabia. Where his expertise in HVAC and Electrical works flourished until 2023. Louie’s journey showcases his dedication to field, and hands-on experience in the intricate realms of electrical systems and air conditioning technology.
Maria works to cultivate a culture of life-long learning within all aspects of Hayy, from arranging school visits to designing learning kits to organizing public workshops. Maria also facilitates Hayy Learning, a community educational platform offering bespoke courses to people of all ages and levels of expertise. Before joining Hayy, Maria lectured at DAH University and worked as a researcher at Darat Safeya Binzagr. Maria holds a BA in Philosophy and Middle Eastern studies from Brown University and an MA from SOAS, University of London.
Mohsin is an award-winning architectural researcher whose practice explores the relationships between urban space, global systems of power, and lived post-colonial realities. His work often investigates convivial sites to address the intrinsic relationship between global singularities of modernity on the everyday. Collaborative ethnography, archival curation and in-betweenness are core to his research design and methodologies. Mohsin graduated from the Manchester School of Architecture with a specialism in Architectures and Migration, and has since gone on to co-found the interdisciplinary art and architectural design studio, THIRD SPACE* Studio, based in Jeddah.
Murad studied architecture in the USA and Jordan and practiced architectural design in the UAE prior to joining Art Jameel where he now holds a particular interest in cross-disciplinary approaches to diversifying audiences and maximizing institutional impact in the regional creative and cultural scene. Murad focuses on utilizing strategic design-thinking to deliver impact while engaging with new technologies in special projects and initiatives.
Nawwaf joined the Art Jameel family in 2018, working as an assistant covering different operational tasks for The Jameel House of Traditional Arts and Hayy Jameel.
Omar graduated from King Abdulaziz University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Before joining Hayy Jameel, Omar gained in-depth experience in project management, he also worked as a Customer Experience representative in Jeddah Season. Recently, Omar completed his internship with the Visitor Experience department at Art Jameel, in which he built on his expertise by crafting a more holistic and seamless vision for visitors. Because of his unique blend of artistic sensibility and business acumen, he is an outstanding asset when it comes to creating unforgettable experiences for those who appreciate and are curious about creativity within the region.
Reema is a Saudi-based visual communication designer and typography enthusiast. Among her previous occupations at Al Balad Historic District, Jeddah and JAX District, Diriyah — arts and culture has become a vital part in her career and design practice.
Ruba develops strategic, integrated and global communications for Art Jameel across Saudi Arabic and the UAE. She studied media and creative industries at Institut d'études politiques de Paris, and went on to work as a journalist, writing extensively on art from and about the region for publications such as VICE, Vogue and Art Asia Pacific.
Rana graduated from Effat University majoring in Organization Behavioral Psychology which allowed her to achieve a variety of different experiences. Her role mainly focuses on Human Resources operation and contributing to developing and improving the employee experience in a Hayy Jameel. Rana practices art through drawing as a hobby, and she's very interested in all kinds of art.
Rayan is a passionate writer and editor who has experience in journalism, content creation, and marketing. He studied Design Management at Parsons the New School, and Humanities, Political Science, and English at the University of Oregon. Other areas of interest and pursuit include literature, photography, and design.
Rotana is Curator working closely with the team to execute exhibitions, publications and commissions at Art Jameel. Prior to joining, she was the MODA 2020 Curatorial Fellow at the Wallach Art Gallery, New York, and subsequently a curatorial fellow at Punk Orientalism. She was Assistant Curator of the Saudi Pavilion at the 59th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia. Rotana received her BS in Psychology and Art History from Tufts University and her MA in Modern and Contemporary Art from Columbia University.
Rahaf studied Management Information Systems at Taif University and she is a versatile professional with a diverse background in Business Administration, Retail Sales and Freelance Artistry. Her experience as an Administrator and Data Analyst at a kindergarten honed her communication skills with children. As a freelance artist, Rahaf not only excelled in her artistry but also gained valuable experience in retail sales and communication skills. Her achievements include winning local prizes, participating in comic conventions in Dubai, Kuwait, Riyadh and Jeddah, contributing as an artist for a published manga. Driven by her passion for art and her desire to make a meaningful impact in the creative industry, Rahaf has joined Art Jameel. In her role, she aspires to support and facilitate the exploration of artistic potential among individuals.
Sahrish assists with Learning Programmes at Hayy Jameel and specializes in children's education by researching and designing comprehensive creative projects that incorporate STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Her interests include creating inclusive learning spaces, open-source projects, experimentation around methods and materials in the art and sonic urbanism realms. She has a background in computer science, education and art. Sahrish’s current research and focus lies in looking at nature reserves along with land-use best practices, the relationship between humans, sound, and place, and looking into accessible kids and adult maker-spaces.
Sara holds a degree in Finance from the University of Business and Technology. With a comprehensive background encompassing five years of experience in the finance sector, she specializes in budgeting and financial analysis. Sara has obtained a CME certificate and continues to pursue further certifications in this field. Beyond her financial expertise, she harbors a fervent passion for arts, music, and cultural pursuits.
Sara is in love with all that encompass poetics and language. She is passionate about all things to do with writing and its various forms of ephemera, and looks forward to facilitating a library space that is welcoming, exciting, and reflects Jeddah back to itself. It is her deepest hope that Hayy’s library grows into a space that is widely accessible, engaging, and makes a home in many people’s hearts. Sara has a degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Book Arts from Pratt Institute. When she is not reading, writing, or looking for her next project, she is thinking and dreaming of what life must be like underwater.
Shahbaz is an Accounts Manager at Art Jameel, He brings his expertise in financial analysis along with budgeting and reporting. He Assists the regional financial manager and CFO in strong financial governance with continuously improving Internal Controls and audit. He has over 14 years of experience in Finance and Accounting.
Wafi studied Creative Design of Advertising from University of Business & Technology and He has experience in branding guidelines and Public relations, his passion for the creative industry is driving him to indulge himself to new experiences . Wafi handles day-to-day activities of the Hayy Jameel shop in addition to managing it's inventory.
Yousif graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston, in IT-system administration. Prior to joining Art Jameel, he had various experiences as an IT help desk in Boston, also he was in charge of the IT department in FB restaurant, and coffee shops retail in Jeddah. Yousif is handling the audio/visual of Hayy Jameel besides his IT tasks. Professional videographer and video editor with 5+ years of experience with advanced video editing skills.
Zohra is Head of Hayy Cinema, an eclectic role across cinema management and operations, programming, collaborations. Zohra was previously working in cultural diplomacy for the French Embassy – as the Audiovisual & Creative Industries Attaché to the GCC, including Saudi and before being based in Abu Dhabi, in a similar role at the Consulate in Jerusalem and Palestine. She started her studies in Psychology and holds a Master’s degree in Political Science specialized in Media and Audience from French Institute of Press, Paris and Creative Industries from University Vincennes Saint-Denis, Paris.
