Join us for a panel discussion exploring the evolution of mosque architecture and the role of community in adapting to new mosque design, technologies and practice. Founded in 2011, the Abdullatif Al Fozan Award for Mosque Architecture is a triennial award that recognises and promotes excellence in mosque architecture and the merger of tradition and innovation.
For the first time, and in collaboration with Art Jameel, the international jury meetings of the Abdullatif Al Fozan Award for Mosque Architecture – now in its fifth cycle – take place at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah. This public programme offers an opportunity to connect with leading voices in the field of Islamic architecture, mosque design and urban planning.
Jury members and panel speakers include:
Ali Al Shuaibi, Architect and professor with expertise in Islamic architecture
Armando Salvatore, Academic and author specialising in Islamic studies & urban development
Reiner de Graaf, Architect, urbanist and author known for groundbreaking architectural projects
Sabah Mushatat, Architect and professor with expertise in sustainable mosque design
Tosin Oshinowo: Architect, designer and curator of the 2023 Sharjah Architecture Triennial
