Zahra Bundakji

From 6-meter-tall disco balls to hand-carved marble dining tables with plates melting through them and illustrations made with spices, Zahra Bundakji is a multidisciplinary artist whose installations engage a multi-sensory experience through sculpture and a seamless integration of sound, video, performance, and other creative mediums. Her works observe how human gathering defines physical spaces, and vice versa. Bundakji reconsiders themes such as dance, food, and gift giving as social tools with broader socio, cultural, and economic implications.

Informed by her conceptual work, Bundakji’s ceramic studio explores behavior within domestic spaces, resulting in functional ceramics that facilitate interaction and cultural bonding.
