A Voice That Never Fell Silent | Poetry Reading Circle in Memory of Thuraya Qabil with Nouf Alharthi
A poetry reading circle held in memory of Thuraya Qabil, honoring her enduring literary and cultural legacy. The workshop situates Qabil’s work within the broader context of Saudi literary history and Jeddah’s cultural life, while creating space for collective listening and reflection.
The programme unfolds through guided thematic poetry readings -exploring love and longing, place and memory, and voice, womanhood, and expression- alongside musical interludes featuring songs adapted from her poetry. Participants are invited to take part in an open reflection circle, emphasizing shared interpretation, attentive listening, and personal engagement with Qabil’s words.
Designed as an intimate and contemplative gathering, the workshop concludes with a collective ritual of reading or silence, acknowledging a voice that continues to resonate across generations.
