Join us for our first jam session led by Yamama’s Flight, as they explore folk poetics through the process of re-voicing Hejazi musical traditions and scales. An opportunity for the music community to come together, create their own melodies and connect with old songs they love, grew up listening to or hearing across generations and time.

An open format style of performance and conversation, allowing different instrumentalists, vocalists and music lovers to join the tune as well as space to improvise and embody sound and movement to celebrate the preservation and regeneration of tradition and storytelling.

Yamama’s Flight is a Saudi experimental fusion ensemble led by Saudi artist Tara Aldughaither on vocals and is composed of several musicians combining progressive folk, soul, funk, jazz and Arabic scales into their original compositions. Formed in 2023, the band built their repertoire through improvisational jam sessions which began in 2019. This set introduces Tara with Mohammad Nahas on percussion and Fawaz Waleed Baasem on keys, with the trio coming together to integrate local forms of music with non-traditional instruments.
