Ahmad Hikmat
Known as DJ Afrodiziac, Ahmad Hikmat is a Sudanese DJ, content producer, media consultant, and programme manager. He is Chief Producer and Content & Programme Manager at Capital Radio 91.6 FM, where he champions Afrobeat, Afro House, Afro Folk, and Afro Fusion. He also works in communications and media consultancy with EUNIC Sudan.
Vik Sohonie
Vik Sohonie is a two-time Grammy-nominated producer and founder of Ostinato Records, an independent label dedicated to bringing overlooked musical histories into global circulation through archival research and rare recordings. He focuses on building intellectual property infrastructure across the Global South, supporting rights administration, royalty collection, songwriter registration, and licensing.
Abeer Sultan
Abeer Sultan is a multidisciplinary Saudi artist based in Riyadh, working across moving image and sound to explore memory, identity, and storytelling. Drawing from literature, experimental music, surrealism, and mythology, her practice creates nostalgic and meditative atmospheres. Her work has been exhibited across Saudi Arabia and internationally.
Rund Alarabi
Rund Alarabi is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores traces of human presence and the relationship between people and space. Through collage, she examines connections across different eras and alternative realities, while considering how personal archives can shape, preserve, and reframe collective histories.
Miriam Hillawi Abraham
Miriam Hillawi Abraham is a multidisciplinary designer from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, working across digital media, architecture, and spatial design. Her practice explores equitable futurism and intersectionality, and has been featured at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Sharjah Architecture Triennial, and Shanghai Biennale. She is co-curating Red Winds, Coral Worlds at Hayy Jameel in 2026.
Sara Alabdali
Sara Alabdali is a Jeddah-based Saudi artist exploring Arab culture, Islamic philosophy, and the material heritage of the Hijaz through painting and traditional crafts. Her practice examines identity, belonging, and overlooked histories, drawing attention to cultural memory and place. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the British Museum.
KMRU
Joseph Kamaru, known as KMRU, is a Nairobi-born, Berlin-based ambient and electronic musician. His practice draws on field recordings, organic textures, and electronic sound to explore listening, memory, and environment. He has gained international recognition through releases, collaborations, and performances, and holds a Master’s in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts from Berlin University of the Arts.
Huda Tayob
Huda Tayob is a South African architectural historian and theorist and Senior Tutor (Research) at the Royal College of Art. Her research focuses on minor, migrant, and subaltern architectures across Africa and the Global South. She has curated and contributed to projects including Archive of Forgetfulness, Race, Space & Architecture, and Index of Edges. She is co-curating Red Winds, Coral Worlds at Hayy Jameel in 2026.
Noori & his Dorpa Band
Noori & his Dorpa Band is a Beja band from Port Sudan led by musician Noori Jaber. Founded in 2006, the group blends traditional Beja music with electric instrumentation, centred around Jaber’s self-created “tambo-guitar,” which combines a guitar neck with a kissar. Their debut album was released by Ostinato Records in 2022.
Frequency Room
Frequency Room is a Jeddah-based cultural enterprise using sound, community, and immersive experiences as tools for cultural development. Located at Hayy Jameel, it operates across music, food, retail, education, and community programming, with a focus on strengthening local creative communities and supporting a sustainable creative economy.
KNZ Records
KNZ Records is a Riyadh-based music-driven creative house dedicated to discovering and developing contemporary sound culture in the region. It supports artists, releases forward-thinking music, and curates immersive events that bring people together through sound and creative expression, while contributing to the growth of Saudi Arabia’s independent music ecosystem.
Bohemia Records
Bohemia Records is a Saudi independent vinyl store, music hub, and creative space founded in Al Khobar in 2018. With locations in Al Khobar and Riyadh, it supports local music culture through vinyl, live events, artist collaborations, and community programming, creating spaces for listening, discovery, and exchange.
Ostinato Records
Ostinato Records is a two-time Grammy-nominated independent label based in New York City, dedicated to recovering, restoring, and releasing overlooked musical histories from Africa, Haiti, and the Caribbean. Founded by Vik Sohonie, the label connects archival research with contemporary music to bring these histories to new audiences.
Mhamad Safa
Mhamad Safa is a musician, architect, and researcher based between London and Beirut. His practice explores the relationship between space, sound, and cultural memory through field recordings, sound design, micro-sampling, and psychoacoustics. His research considers environments shaped by traditional practices, subcultures, conflict, and violence, and he holds an MA from Goldsmiths, University of London.
