Since its first edition in 2014, the Showreel (Effat Students Film Festival) has supported emerging filmmakers in taking their first steps toward a career in cinema. The School of Cinematic Arts continues to work with students and partners to nurture talent and contribute to the growth of the Saudi film industry.
Over the years, the School has developed collaborations with national and international partners, including governmental and non-governmental organizations, film festivals, and private associations, providing students with guidance, exposure, and opportunities to engage with the wider filmmaking community.
This year marks Effat’s 13th Showreel, featuring a selection of student films presented at Hayy Cinema, giving the filmmakers increased visibility and a chance to reach a broader audience. The screening will take place on Wednesday, April 8, followed by a panel discussion with Aziz Gharbawi, Khaled Yeslam, and Hakeem Juma.
Films included in this year’s showreel:
Mubham, Laylat Alshuhb, Our Impact, Jinah, Last Destination, Adv, Emission, Min Turab, The 7th Art Fanatics, Between, Scream of an Ant.
