The lineup also includes acclaimed Arab films such as The Tale of Daye’s Family (2024), which follows a Nubian boy with albinism as he travels with his family to audition for The Voice as well as a Palestinian-focused selection presented in collaboration with Homegrown Market and Bint Al Yasmine’s Palestinian-themed market
. This selection includes The Teacher (2023), which centers on a devoted Palestinian schoolteacher determined to support his student, and The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025), an emotional hybrid of documentary and drama recounting the heartbreaking story of a six-year-old Palestinian girl killed during the Israel-Gaza war.

Join us this December at Hayy Jameel, as we host a Palestinian-focused programme featuring the films The Teacher (2023) and The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025). The screenings will take place alongside a Palestinian themed market in collaboration with Homegrown Market and Bint Al Yasmine to support Palestinian handicrafts and food, offering a space to engage thoughtfully with Palestinian stories, culture, and lived experiences.

The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025): On January 29, 2024, volunteers at the Red Crescent receive a desperate call: six-year-old Hind Rajab is trapped inside a car in Gaza and is under fire from Israeli troops. The team tries to stay on the line with her for as long as possible while racing to dispatch an ambulance to reach her. Their struggle to save her becomes a terrifying race against time… and Hind’s voice becomes the only window into the fear a child faces alone under fire.
