The Jameel Arts & Health Lab and NYU Steinhardt, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health ,Art Jameel and EOA/ CULTURUNNERS, will offer a four-day course introducing how the arts can be used to support health outcomes for youth and older adults, as well as in the context of workplace mental health and to support community wellbeing post-conflict.
The course will bring together Saudi and regional health experts, educators, creatives and cultural practitioners to explore the history of the field through case studies, theory and hands-on learning, and unpack current research and opportunities for greater integration of the arts in existing care projects and/or health and wellbeing orientation in cultural programmes.
An online application and a small participation fee (for those selected) are mandatory due to limited capacity. The training will run from 30 November until 3 December 2025 in Project Space at Hayy Jameel, Jeddah and is supported by Hayy Wellness, an initiative that focuses on fostering a culture of holistic health, sustainable living, spirituality and wellbeing across the arts.
About the Jameel Arts & Health Lab
Launched in January 2023 by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, the Steinhardt School at New York University, Community Jameel, and CULTURUNNERS, the Jameel Arts & Health Lab is a global initiative to measurably improve health and wellbeing through the arts. With a focus on overlooked and underserved communities, the Lab leverages scientific evidence, artist-led advocacy, capacity building, and a global Healing Arts outreach campaign to drive the integration of the arts into mainstream healthcare.
