Residents Manager 

The Residents Manager is based at Hayy Jameel, Jeddah. This role takes on the responsibility of fostering a dynamic and vibrant Residents community through planning, developing and delivering a coordinated approach to managing residents and their diverse needs.  

 

The Resident’s currently includes diverse areas of business; 

  • Performance club and training centre
  • Baking school, BTB caterer, coffee and pastries café
  • Clothing and accessories boutique 
  • Publishing house
  • Design studio and furniture store
  • Commercial gallery 
  • Restaurant and cafe

This role focuses on nurturing communication and cultivating relationships with and among residents. Ensuring residents are aware of all programming and events happening at Hayy Jameel. The role will also ensure residents deliver on programming emerging across their different disciplines and introduces Hayy Jameel’s audiences to a rich and engaging programme.

The Hayy Jameel Residents manager will work alongside Visitor Experience, Communication, Operations and Community Programming Team to support and encourage deeper engagement between residents and ensuring coordinated approach to communications. Candidates should have knowledge and experience of project management, events management, preferably in Saudi; and an awareness and knowledge of communications strategies. A strong level of both Arabic and English is preferred.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Residents Community: The Residents Manager is responsible for overseeing the well-being of residents at Hayy Jameel. Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents. Promote and foster a sense of community among residents. 
  • Communication: Contribute to shaping residents communication strategy, including developing a coordinated approach to communication in coordination with the Hayy Jameel Communication team and residents themselves. Where required, draft, edit and proof collateral for events, including copy for websites, press releases and other communication channels.
  • Internal Coordination: Coordinate with the internal Hayy Jameel teams such Operations, Visitor Experience and Programming Teams on day-to- day operational support to residents
  • Resident Support: Provide guidance, support, and resources to residents. Address concerns, resolve conflicts, and assist with referrals to appropriate internal services when needed within the Hayy Jameel team.
  • Maintain regular communication through newsletters, emails, flyers, or other means to inform Residents about updates, events, and resources to develop their own programming in line with Hayy Jameel community programming. 
  • Resident Feedback: Gather feedback from residents through surveys, regular meetings, and Utilize feedback to improve community services, activities, and facilities.
  • Work closely with property management, local organizations, and service providers to enhance the community’s resources and support network
  • Policy Implementation: Enforce community rules, policies, and regulations to maintain a safe and harmonious living environment for all residents.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures in relation to management of Residents  

Administration and Management

 

  • Perform administrative duties, including maintaining resident records, support in processing lease agreements, handling resident inquiries or complaints.
  • Take on administration-related tasks and projects, when required
  • Manage the financial administration of residents including contract management
  • Support the Head of Operations in residents contract management where necessary 
  • Foster good working systems with finance in regards to managing and reporting on resident’s finance collection in coordination with Head of Operations and Hayy Jameel Finance teams

Qualifications and past experience

  • More than 3 years of management experience involving running events or community initiatives at a reputable organization preferably in a creative field
  • Proven Communication experience 
  • Natural passion for community building and cultivating networks
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and be able to work in a team environment
  • Positive, resourceful, solutions- and outcomes-oriented; ready to embrace new challenges; and be able to inspire and lead a team effectively
  • Mandatory: excellent Arabic; strong written and spoken English; an entrepreneurial, proactive approach.

Conditions of Work

  • This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, KSA
  • All members of the Art Jameel team take shifts on the Welcome Desk (at least 1 day every 2-3 weeks)
  • Occasional weekend and evening work according to events and programmes is as required
