Internship

Intern With Art Jameel

Hayy Jameel is delighted to support the next generation of art professionals by providing internship opportunities to applicants currently enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programmes, and recent graduates committed to a career in the arts. Interns gain institutional work experience, networking opportunities and a certificate of completion. Our highly competitive internships are awarded based on merit, expertise and a rigorous interview process.

Interns can expect to receive training in social media, public speaking and communication, networking, and creative research; participate in regular review and mentorship meetings; and attend art events and talks. The experience should provide insight into working in a community arts organisation and career opportunities within arts and culture, and enable the mapping of local and international partners and opportunities.

Interns will focus on one aspect of our work, and be paired with a senior member of the team for the entirety of their internship. The tracks that interns may work in are: Curation, Collection & Exhibition; Library and Research; Administration; Events; Arts Education; Graphic Design; Social Media, Marketing and Communications.

Keep an eye out for Art Jameel’s August 2025 internship cycle!

Objective:

  • Offer an entry-point into the fields of arts and culture
  • Offer hands-on and practical work experience
  • Offer networking and mentorship opportunities
  • Offer a dynamic Intern Career Development Programme

A cornerstone of the internship program is the Intern Career Development Programme, tailored to ensure that interns are offered the chance to learn more about the full range of departments and roles in the arts, as well as other careers in the field. The programme invites our intern cohort to think mindfully about the arts and their careers.

Key components:

  • Mentorship – regular one-on-one sessions with supervisors to discuss each intern’s interests, career goals, and answer any questions, an opportunity to gain and share new insights, advice, and direction
  • Assessment – two feedback and assessment sessions allowing for interns and supervisors alike to reflect on their experiences and develop further the programme
