Cinema Marketing and Outreach Assistant, Hayy Cinema

Position Overview

Hayy Cinema, a cornerstone of Hayy Jameel’s cultural offerings, is looking for a proactive and versatile Cinema Marketing and Outreach Assistant to support in raising awareness of the sub-brand ‘Hayy CInema’ within Hayy Jameel and the accompanying programme. This role combines social media management, event coverage, and corporate outreach, requiring strong skills in communication, copywriting, and multimedia content creation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, with the flexibility to work varying hours based on cinema schedules and events.

Accountability

Reports to Head of Cinema and Marketing Senior Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Media Management (Social Media, Website, Newsletter and others)
  • Plan, develop, and execute creative social media campaigns to promote Hayy Cinema’s films, events, and initiatives.
  • Maintain a content calendar for social media 
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to produce digital assets for social media, newsletters, signage, and posters.
  • Create visual marketing assets using Canva and other design software, with support from the Marketing team.
  • Help manage Hayy Cinema’s internal photography library.
  • Engage with the online community, responding to comments and messages to foster engagement.
  • Monitor trends and implement innovative ideas tailored to Hayy Cinema’s audience.
  • Content Creation 
  • Write engaging copy for social media posts, email newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Create multimedia content, including short videos, photo essays, and graphic designs, to support marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with photographers, videographers, and designers to produce high-quality visuals for campaigns
  • Collaborate closely with Art Jameel’s Audience team, involving them where necessary in content creation.
  • Contribute to the wider marketing and communications strategy and plans by working collaboratively with the Audience team.
  • Marketing & Outreach
  • Conduct regular competitor and keyword audits to capitalize on the latest digital trends.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using analytics tools and metrics.
  • Adjust strategies based on insights gathered from audience engagement, ticket sales, and website traffic.
  • Develop marketing materials tailored for corporate and institutional outreach, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for partnerships and strategic collaborations.
  • Event & Festival Coverage
  • Create real-time social media updates, reels, and stories to keep audiences engaged during live events.
  • Accompany the Hayy Cinema team to festivals, internal & external events, and special screenings to provide live updates and comprehensive coverage. (If needed)
  • Capture high-quality photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes moments to highlight the vibrancy of the events.
  • Act as an on-ground representative, interacting with organizers and capturing key moments.
  • Collaborate with nearby businesses, universities, and community centers to cross-promote events and film screenings, aiming to increase awareness and revenue (through ticket sales or venue hires).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for various digital platforms (Arb & Eng)
  • Basic skills in photography, videography, and video editing (experience with Instagram Reels and TikTok, events highlight, content creation is a plus).
  • Proficiency in design tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate campaign performance and audience engagement.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours and travel for events and outreach efforts.
  • Passion for cinema, arts, and cultural programming.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of  2 years relevant experience gained in-house or at a marketing agency
  • A portfolio of work to demonstrate your creative skills.
  • Previous experience in the cinema context or creative sector is highly desirable.
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Premier Pro & After Effects.
  • Strong grasp of social media, staying up to date with latest trends and best practice
  • Ability to maintain strong visual brand identities across all creative content produced
  • Knowledge and passion for film, with a strong understanding of different genres, filmmakers, and industry trends.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with freelancers.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Creative thinking and a keen eye for creating content for the target audience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Consistent professional and neat presentation and friendly demeanour.
  • Command of Arabic and English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.

Conditions of Work

  • This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, KSA.
  • Weekend and evening work according to events and programmes is as required.
