The Visitor Experience Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for visitors at the Welcome Desk and will also oversee the operations of the Art Jameel Shop. This role is crucial in providing excellent customer service, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and managing the retail experience. The Visitor Experience Assistant will be directly managed by the Visitor Experience team and will work closely with the retail team to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome Desk
- Greet and welcome visitors, providing them with information about Hayy Jameel’s exhibitions, programmes,events and Residents.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
- Maintain the Welcome Desk area to ensure it is tidy and well-organized.
- Assist with events check-in and reservations as necessary.
- Monitor visitor flow and assist in managing crowd control during peak times.
- Oversee the general email Hayy@artjameel.org
- Support the team with VE projects
Art Jameel Shop
- Oversee daily operations of the Art Jameel Shop, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
- Assist customers with product selection, providing information about items for sale, including artworks, merchandise, and publications.
- Manage display inventory levels, ensuring stock is replenished and organized effectively.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Create Daily Sales Report accuratly
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic cash handling procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality, retail, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a receptionist, customer service, or retail role, preferably in a cultural or creative environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Passion for arts and culture, with a keen interest in promoting the mission of Hayy Jameel.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic inventory control and management.
